Closing Argument:
I believe that La Mettrie should be on the syllabus because he attributed to many future philosopher, psychologists, and unanswered theories than more people realize. He paved the way for some of Freuds work. Many of his theories have not yet been challenged specifically his opinion of souls in the mechanisms of animals and humans, etc. His life story continues to be highly interesting including the way he died, some of his more crazy opinions, and the fact he didn’t back down his philosophy which paved the way for an old regime to be destroyed by scientific analysis. That led to the downfall of the very churches that banished him and the enlightment movement that tried to discipline him.
