Closing Arguments – Bruno

Giordano Bruno, despite going under the radar in the realm of science philosophy compared to the big names like Newton, Galileo, Copernicus, and Kepler, had some truly unique ideas, some of which hold up today. In addition to that, he died for the belief in his ideas. While the church was certainly after him, his arrogance and unwillingness to forgo what he believed, what he knew was right ultimately led to his demise. I also find that his style of relating science and philosophy is more appealing to the philosopher than the scientist. The work of this that I have read, while it does give explanations for its scientific claims, does not get bogged down too deep in the math and physics. It is for these reasons that I believe Bruno should be included in the syllabus next semester.
