Closing Argument – Suchon

Gabrielle Suchon should be on the syllabus next year because of her viewpoints on equal rights for women and her original ideas to support these viewpoints. Suchon argued that women and men were equal by nature, countering the common perception that women were inferior to men. She created the concept of a neutralist, or someone who lives a life of complete free choice and is not tied down by patriarchal institutions like marriage and the convent. Through this, Suchon argued for women’s equality and more outcomes for women that did not involve institutions that limited their nature and choice.
