There are many ways to describe ethical issues; political, social, economical, and mostly religious. Rarely does anyone wrap these issues into a single demonstrable text that easily transition without corruptible attempt. A blend so unique has been recorded again be a man, Zera Yacob, while in the wilderness. This is genius normally associated with the enlightenment class of thinkers like Descartes, Rousseau, or Locke, which, has dominated the all men are equal narrative. Ethics –to the enlightened audience– is about keeping someone or something under control in a manner dictated by clearly established rules; common not natural. So if God writes the ethical rules “[w]e ought to observe them, because such is the will of our creator, and we ought to know that God does not create us perfect but creates us with such a reason as to know that we are to strive for perfection..” in all we do. Yacob obviously understands the importance of reasoning which is not an issue of upwardly thinking. Knowledge of life is not confined to particular areas of men for it to be considered substantive. The fact that Yacob learned his lessons in his native country demonstrates the strength of philosophical arguments founded on principles of rationality extends beyond Europe. The originality of his teachings has been challenged and compared to Rene Descartes by contemporaries.
